It’s easy to complain about the things we don’t like in the world, but, at the end of the day, it feels pretty bad. On the other hand, if we can imagine the kinds of things we’d like to see instead and then make them a reality, serving ourselves and others, that can get to feeling pretty good.

Have ever been using a piece of software and thought “If only I could just do that!” or “Why can't I just do this?” or “Why would they do this to me?” Salai wants to create the solution you already know you need.

The first project here is personal. It exists because it's something I wanted to exist: a less painful and overbearing way to modify documents with AI that didn’t feel like the LLM constantly trying to drown out my voice or sneaking in unapproved and undesired changes.

Ghostwriter

Ghostwriter, Salai’s first project, aims to make writing with AI fun, interactive, and, above all, a human-first affair. Using a unique write-prompt-review workflow and leveraging proprietary semantic analysis algorithms to identify different types of AI-generated alternations to text, Ghostwriter makes it simple to use AI to build, explore, and refine your writing without comprising your voice.

Review Mode

  • No changes proposed by AI are made without your direct approval
  • AI’s “best guess” can range from “pure gold” to “big miss” and everything in between. Easily Accept or Reject its suggestions, keeping what you like and tossing the rest.
  • Easily select proposed changes grouped by paragraph, sentence, or individual words for maximum creative control
  • Like a change but know that you can do it better yourself. Flag it so that you can easily return to it in Edit Mode and tweak it by hand.

Semantic Diff Engine

AI can make many different kinds of changes. Ghostwriter analyzes the meaning of your text behind the scenes to identify what content the AI has proposed to add, what it wants to delete, and what it just reworded from the original, making the review process as intuitive as possible

Seamlessly build on existing text

Many AI tools offer to expand on your writing, but what they actually give you often fails to respect the flow, logic, and the tone of your existing text. Whether adding a new paragraph or making a section more concise, a lot of work has gone into ensuring that Ghostwriter provided suggestions are coherent and respect your style

Improved suggestions based on reference documents

The newest feature of Ghostwriter. Ghostwriter will now search user-provided plain-text or PDF documents for relevant information when generating suggestions.
